Dear Unseasonably Gorgeous Weather

Dear Unseasonably Gorgeous Weather,

I know this is a trick of yours.  I've fallen for weather like you before, and it always leads to heartbreak and regret.  I am ON TO YOU like...something is on to something else.  No, seriously... I know what you're doing and it's cruel and heartless.

It's just that I can't help myself.

This weather...is just like having a crush on a boy in high-school.  I know you're insincere and fickle and yet I have fallen for that light-hearted sunshine and the promise of long summer days...

You're going to freeze me out, aren't you?

I even lost my mind and bought a new umbrella today.  (The puppy ate the last one.)

Let me down easy, okay?

Love,
Barb

PS: I will return with the continuation of my Texas Travelogue tomorrow.  Right now the weather is gorgeous and I can't seem to concentrate on anything...

Umm, yeah, this isn't going to last. Don't get your hopes up, and prepare to move those lovely flowers someplace sheltered (garage?) when the frost comes back. Our last frost date is in May for a reason.

On the other hand, I'm REALLY enjoying not having to put on a coat when I go out. I'm still pausing and reaching for it, though.

New York is expecting snow tomorrow (trust me, we're expecting some tonight--I live in Michigan, right next door...)

There's this weird little nino-type that's dropping all sorts of precip all over the east coast right now, and tornados are dropping like flies in Alabama (due to the humidity). Keep your eyes open.

Oh for goodness sake - go ahead and put the flowers out. If it gets cold - you can get new ones. We ate EASTER DINNER on the DECK last weekend. I even made Jessica wear sunscreen, and my nephew got his toe crushed under a lawn chair cuz he wasn't wearing ANY SHOES!

I refuse to believe, no matter what anybody says, that this isn't "Spring Proper".

Enjoy it. And if it snows, we'll enjoy that too! I mean, what's better than a crush?

Looks like your plants are in pots so you can move them inside if necessary. We've had nice weather here too this week; not as nice as yours but unseasonable for here. People are thinking gardening too even though it's only early April and we really shouldn't even think about putting bedding plants out until after May long. Weather has an unusually cruel sense of humor. We'll all be smacked upside the head by it any day now.
What a gorgeous patio! I think you can throw a blanket over the pots if frost threatens...and by May you'll be safe.

Azaleas are blooming here already - it's wonderful...

I know!!! Here too. I've been outside for days. I think my glow-in-the dark legs are a tiny shade darker.
