Both recipes are quite different.

Soak cuke and onion slices overnight in salt water. Drain. Pour diluted white or apple cider and soak again. Eat immediately. Hope the pickles are as yummy as they look!

I've got another cucumber use for you - July Real Simple had an appetizer recipe on the back page. 1 small chopped cucumber (I removed seeds) and 1/2 c. corn (fresh or canned or frozen, i suppose) and 2 tbsp. goat cheese, mixed together with salt and pepper to taste. Put into Tostitos Scoops and you have a yummy QUICK canape. I eyeballed amounts and did equal parts of corn and cucumber, and added the cheese until it looked good, and was heavy on the pepper. Went over very well with friends, and super easy.Ann in NJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08867456693546188505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908127.post-69704350154315928752009-08-03T13:59:31.050-04:002009-08-03T13:59:31.050-04:00and Rhonda, is that Baddeck NS? fellow Canuk???and Rhonda, is that Baddeck NS? fellow Canuk???Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03707312160893238672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908127.post-22228694416572847842009-08-03T13:58:45.427-04:002009-08-03T13:58:45.427-04:00"but the lids look depressed--downright suici..."but the lids look depressed--downright suicidal"

OMG I laughed outloud! thanks I needed that.

(and the doggie is gorgeous and edward is supremely disdainful)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03707312160893238672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908127.post-35871685103795750712009-08-03T08:42:28.537-04:002009-08-03T08:42:28.537-04:00The pickles look lovely, but I cannot BELIEVE how ...The pickles look lovely, but I cannot BELIEVE how that puppy has grown!ToyLadyhttp://darksideofthefridge.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908127.post-91193515035322474562009-08-02T21:58:29.606-04:002009-08-02T21:58:29.606-04:00This is all very Ma Ingalls of you, Barb.
