Everyone Should Have An Orange Cat

So, the cold front came through last night and the weather turned cold and gray and rainy.

It's at these times that our cat Thomas shows his true greatness as a snuggler. Last night he pinned my husband to the couch --and I choose those words very deliberately. Thomas weighs about 20 pounds, I guess, and he's so warm and so solid that when he lays down on you, you absolutely can't move.

My Janie came home from school with a bad headache (could be the fourth 30-degree-plus shift in our weather in as many days) and she's cuddling on the couch watching a movie. Guess who saw his chance and took it?

Gotta love an orange cat.

I would love to have a big orange cat to snuggle with.

Awwww. That almost makes me want to get a cat....almost....

Dude, Maggie'd LOVE it. She's way more of a cat person than I am.

Looks just like my Bailey. They practically look like brothers. Bailey just isn't much into cuddling, mostly because the dog always gets the attention. I put him up on my post today. http://discoveringliz.blogspot.com/2007/12/wordless-wednesday_12.html

I have an orange cat. I agree entirely. (Except mine couldn't pin my shoelaces...he's skinny cat!)
That cat looks comfy. The sofa, too. We have the same color.

Our orange beastie is just about as cuddly (or is that: needy?) - and about as diginified! Gotta love 'em!

Love the pics! We have cats who do the same thing. They aren't orange, though. But I think it still counts.
Exceedingly smart cat. My g/f has a Tortoiseshell. She describes them as neurotic as a breed. I had an orange cat as a kid--he ran away. Never had a cat since he broke my heart.

I think you also need a black and white cat and a calico....and I have JUST the ones you need. Heh heh heh.

http://flickr.com/photos/amandapage/124963534/ is a picture of my late lamented orange boy, Charlie. I had him for 15 years, and he was the best lap cat ever. He loved sitting on Jeff's chest, in that cat loaf shape, face to face and purring.

At his largest, Charlie weighed 28 pounds, so he wasn't just a lap cat, he became The Lap.

Guess who just got a new (super strong) bag at target last weekend!!!

Ha ha ha.

No catnapping, you! I'm warning you--we frisk at this house if a kitty goes missing. Now, if you want to take SCOUT, well, we'll just look the other way, okay?

Barb, got to tell you, love those orange cats--although most every cat will do that if you let them. Teach them early to love rocking in a chair, and they are your friend for LIFE (but you have to have a rocking chair).

Mine will wrap his front feet around my wrist while I sniggle under his chin--he loves that and purrs like an 18-wheeler. But God help you if he's tired of it...his bite is worse than his bark.
